Bunayyat ul Eidiz Zahabi is holding its annual Medical Camp for all mumineen women. The main goals are for awareness of diseases and education of symptoms, as well as prevention of common diagnoses that usually affect women in their mid-to older age ranges. The tests are being offered at lower than the normal hospital rates for the benefit of muminaat, and are as follows:
1. Mammogram for early detection of Breast Cancer costing Ksh 2400,
2. Bone Density Scan for prevention of Osteoporosis (weakening bones, age 45+) costing Ksh 3950, and
3. Pap Smear which is a test that detects for Cervical (Uterine) cancer costing approx Ksh 1000.
The Mammogram and Bone Density Scan will be carried out at Aga Khan University Hospital Radiology Department, and the fees can be directly paid to them. Keep in mind that the Pap Smear test will be available at a later date at the Saifee Clinic, Saifee Park. However, we do require a small booking fee in order to keep an appointment at the above special group rate. The booking fees are non-refundable and are as follows:
1. Mammogram, ksh 200
2. Bone Density Scan, ksh 100
3. Pap Smear, ksh 100
The above fees can be paid to Batul Rampuri or Sakina Moez, after which you may collect a form and proceed to the hospital. The dates for the Camp (Mammogram and Bone Density Scan) are Friday 20 November, and Next week mon 2009 from 10 Aga Khan Hospital. We are aiming for groups of ten women, and will offer dates on a first come, first serve basis.
